Institutional & Group Access
The Academic Digest offers institutional access agreements for universities, research institutions, and organisations wishing to provide Premium access to multiple researchers under a single annual fee.
How institutional access works
Under an institutional agreement, eligible users register individually at theacademicdigest.app using an approved institutional email domain. Premium access is granted automatically up to the agreed maximum seat count. The institution is responsible for communicating access eligibility to its staff and researchers. The Academic Digest does not manage individual user accounts on behalf of institutions.
Agreement and pricing
Institutional access is governed by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreed between the institution and The Academic Digest. The MoU specifies the access tier, maximum seat count, agreement duration, and fee. These Terms of Service are incorporated by reference into all institutional agreements. In the event of any conflict between the MoU and these Terms, the MoU prevails.
Payment
Institutional fees are invoiced annually and payable by bank transfer within 30 days of the invoice date. Access is activated upon confirmation of payment. The Academic Digest reserves the right to suspend institutional access if payment is not received within 60 days of the invoice date.
No-refund policy
Consistent with our general Subscription Terms, institutional fees are non-refundable once access has been activated. This applies to the full annual fee regardless of the number of users who register or the level of engagement during the agreement period. Institutions are encouraged to make use of the free plan and individual free trials available at theacademicdigest.app before entering into an institutional agreement.
Seat upgrades
Institutions may upgrade to a higher tier at any point during the agreement period. The upgrade fee is calculated pro-rata for the remaining term.
Renewal and termination
Institutional agreements run for the duration specified in the MoU and do not renew automatically. Either party may choose not to renew by notifying the other at least 30 days before the agreement end date. Either party may terminate the agreement early with 30 days written notice to the other party; no refund is issued for the unused portion of the term.
Data
Institutional users are subject to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy individually. The institution does not receive personal data about its users from The Academic Digest except aggregated, anonymised engagement reports where agreed in the MoU.
